Check it Out --> Our New (Old) Blog!

I am moving my blog to our old blog address we had before we had Avery.  I started the blog in January 2009 and barely (like never) kept it updated!  I feel that the address allows me to include more adventures than just our little Avery.

The address is ...  jandjunger.blogspot.com.

I have imported all of my previous posts from this blog and put them at the new address to keep them all in one spot.

If you have the address bookmarked or saved to your favorite sites, you will have to re-save the new address once you get there.

Check it out and I'll see you there!

OMG...One Month!

I can't believe this week will be Avery's One Month Birthday!  We have really noticed a growth spurt that happened at 3 weeks!  Avery has started outgrowing her cute little newborn outfits...but now she gets to move into her adorable 0-3 month clothing!  She has a whole new wardrobe now to pick from!  It has been so much fun putting her into all of her new outfits that she has gotten as gifts!

Well here are some more photos taken this past week!

She LOVED it!

She slept great right after the bath!

3 Weeks Old!

Hey everybody...

I've been trying to take photos frequently to capture Avery's growth and changes.  So what's new this week?  Avery LOVES her activity mat!  She will just lay there for an hour and just look around and will even check herself out in the mirror!

She is very alert while awake (sometimes making it difficult to go back to sleep after night feedings)

She has the best sleeping poses!

She looks so big already here!

Her 3 week photo with Pooh! (we will try to take this same photo either weekly or monthly)

We also enjoyed getting together with my coworkers at Grizzly's Grill in Waite Park for a baby shower they had for us!  My coworker Michelle coordinated it and it was fabulous!  Thank you everybody for coming and for the awesome gifts!  A special thank you to Michelle for setting it all up!

Adorable outfit given to Avery from Michelle (centerpieces were made by Michelle, too!)

Michelle also made this banner for Avery!

Avery is still getting up every three to four hours every night, but it has been easier with James' help.  He's the best dad!  I think Avery is going to be daddy's little girl!

Avery is 2 Weeks Old!

Avery is the perfect two week old baby: sleeps, eats (a lot!), poops, pees, and loves just staring at us!  She has been working on building up her neck muscles and she is starting to "watch" Pico!  She is beautiful, amazing, and fills our days with smiles and laughs!  She eats about 24 oz each day!  This of course leads to about 12 diaper changes every day.  I have officially switched to pumping breast milk full-time, since my frustration was getting the best of me and I realized that my sanity was at jeopardy!  Pumping about 8 to 10 times a day is difficult, but at least I know that Avery is getting enough milk and she and I are staying much happier!

Avery had some out-of-state visitors on Saturday!  Jackie and Mike Barrett (from Chicago) and Rachel Dockendorf (from Phoenix) were both in town and we all enjoyed catching up with each other.  Jackie and Mike are expecting their first baby (a little boy) on August 23rd!  They will make great parents!

Avery had her two-week check up yesterday with Dr. Wendy Johnson at CentraCare, who confirmed her growth since birth!  Her current stats:  8 pounds 5 ounces (48th percentile), 21 1/2 inches (87%), and 37 cm head circumference (74%).  She was awake and happy during the entire appointment, Dr. Johnson was very impressed!  We questioned the "birthmark" that we noticed on the base of the back of her head.  Apparently that is very common and is called the "stork bite" and should disappear by the time she is a toddler.

Milestones for Avery recently:
She had her first tears on day 16, and on the same day she lost part of her umbilical cord (the remainder was taken off by her doctor the next day).  Her doctor still recommended waiting about a week before we give her a real bath (not a sponge bath) since there still is just a little scab on her belly button.
