7th Month!

I really can't believe how time has been flying by.  We have less than three months left now and this still seems so surreal!

New with baby:  I've been noticing hiccups now almost every day!  Also I'm beginning to notice real movements instead of just kicks and flops.  I felt a hand or foot go across my belly for the first time and can tell things are starting to get tight for her.  Poor little girl, it will only get worse over the next couple of months!  I will go in tomorrow for my 28 week check up and glucose tolerance test.  I will also work on getting my next picture taken and post it on here.

Last weekend consisted of sorting through things that have been given to us by my sister and James' sister.  A closet can sure fill up fast when little girls run in the family!

Dinner with some of my pregnant friends last weekend was so fun.  It's nice to catch up on everyone's experiences.  Yeah, we had four couples and four pregnancies all at one table at Space Aliens on Saturday night...and we're all due within three months of each other with our first child!

This pregnancy has been the best experience ever and we thank God every day to be given the chance to finally build our family!  Another friend that I got close with during our infertility struggles just reminded me that this week is National Infertility Awareness Week.  So please take a moment to think about the millions of couples out there who are struggling to achieve pregnancy.  I will continue to support her efforts to adopt and hopefully someday she, too, will achieve pregnancy, as I know first hand how difficult and frustrating it can be!

I'm looking forward to having a week break from work next week.  James and I will be heading to the Bloomington area for a couple days as kind of a mini "babymoon".  Just a couple of days to get away from home and have some fun together.

I also have a business trip coming up in May to Cleveland.  Not really looking forward to flying at 32 weeks of pregnancy, but I'm always up for some time outside of MN...not that Cleveland would be my first choice of locations...haha. 

Well I hope to spend some time outside today...mowing the lawn, reading some books, go for a walk, enjoy a smoothie... that's what's on my agenda anyway.

Productivity At Its Best!

I can't believe how productive we've been lately.  At this point I will just take a step back and relax for awhile. 

In the last week we have accomplished...

Deciding on a baby name!!!!!  (But don't ask for any hints, we will do our best to keep this a secret!)

Choosing Blake's Buddies Daycare in St. Cloud!!!!  We are very excited about our choice, hopefully making the transition from home to daycare a comfortable experience.  Our baby will start there on Nov 29th!


I received our custom bassinet mattress in the mail!  We will be using an heirloom baby bassinet in our bedroom for the first couple of months after birth.  It is a bassinet that has been used in James' mother's family for decades.  It was just time to get the mattress replaced and James' mom will be working on replacing the fabric on it.

I received my custom fit compression stockings yesterday...yippee...haha

Doctor's Orders

I met with my doctor yesterday for my 24 week visit. 

Here's what we discussed:

Weight gain to date = 15 pounds...right on target!
Keep taking the Tylenol PM to help me sleep.
Suggested Zyrtec for my spring/summertime allergies.
Noticed the arrival of varicose veins on my left leg and prescribed me compression stockings...yikes, I feel old. 
Measured my belly and predicted a 7 pound baby...I wonder how accurate that is with so much time left????
Heartrate still steady at about 151 bpm and baby is very active!
Blood pressure is great!
Discussed my next appointment....glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes.
Suggested I get my paperwork in for my maternity leave.

Well, with a three-day weekend starting today, I plan to get this house under control.  I have things strewn about and I need to start getting it organized!


Going to open my windows and let the work begin!

6 Months Pregnant

Happy Easter Everyone!

We had a wonderful weekend spending time with my family on Saturday and James' family on Sunday.  We ate way too much good food, but it was great! 

I took a couple more pictures of the progress in the nursery...

No, I did not paint this myself.  It is a simple sticker wall decal that I ordered off of ebay.  Children are a little like monkeys, so we both thought this was fitting for the nursery and the jungle theme that we have going on.

I also ordered this tree decal, but arranged the branches in a way to make the branches reach across the wall instead of up from the floor.  I think it turned out well and again was very easy and inexpensive!  Gives the room a little more "nature" feel. 

I also uploaded my 6 month pregnancy picture, so you'll have to check that out.  I think I look bigger in these pictures than I feel I look in person.  I hope that's true anyway!

We're still working on the baby name, but have decided we are going to keep the name a secret, so don't try to trick us into giving any hints :)

Oh, and we have our carseat installed into our vehicle already!  We received the car seat today from Sarah and Dave.  It is the one they used for their last baby, Madeline.  It fits great in my car, we just have to get a second base to put into James' car. 

Things are really coming together now.  It feels good getting this stuff done now, so that we can just relax the last couple months of the pregnancy.  We still have over three months remaining, so there still is time to not feel rushed about things.  That's if baby doesn't make a surprise early arrival that is!
